Inglot

Finally! I'm uploading a few of the Ingot palettes I have received so far! Just a quick note tonight, I will go through the colors later this week. First off, the pearl and shine are just as high quality as MAC; great color payoff, rich pigmentation, smooth, blend easily without diminishing color. Now for the matte, love the amount of colors available in matte. The negative, they are a little powdery so be sure to try using a mineral brush and press the shadow onto the brush or you will be sure to get lots of fall out, some of the mattes are slightly chalky but this does not take away from the pigment whatsoever. I do recommend shadow insurance, this will help your shadow last all day without creasing or much touch up! If you like sparkle, you will like their "DS" (double sparkle) shades. At $5 per pot, these shadows are a steal. I haven't tried them, but I would also recommend the Rainbow Collection Shadows for $7 a shade, you get 3 in 1! (see below) The 10 pot palettes are $14 empty, plus the $5 per shadow to fill them. The only flaw I find in the design of the palettes is there is no hole in the bottom of the palette to change out the pots. Be sure to pick yourself up a magnet from the fabric/craft or hardware store if you plan on rearranging them or changing your pots out!

I have had no eye irritation from the shadows. I will definitely repurchase and try not to pay that much attention to MAC because I'm simply sold on Inglot! This system is called the Freedom System. Next from Inglot I look forward to trying their lipstick and possibly concealers.

If you make a purchase, please let Inglot knows in the notes I referred you, and definitely let me know what YOU think!

Rainbow Shades

I'm definitely going to get some rainbow pots just for my highlighters, so I can have them in each palette!

My palettes below-

I almost forgot to mention the durability of the palette, I will definitely add photos of that or a video! They are highly durable and great for travel.
Have a Great week!

What it does:
This sultry, nighttime version of Too Faced's bestselling Natural Eye Collection intensifies your evening makeup. An array of seductive shadows will take your look from sundown to night-on-the-town. Three highly blendable textures add instant after-hours glamour to any natural look.

This set contains:
- 3 x 0.07 oz Eye Shadow in Full Moon, Night Light, Spotlight
- 6 x 0.03 oz Eye Shadow in Nightcap, Cocoa Star, After Hours, Eclipse, Moon Stone, Night Fever

Ok, Too Faced has great shadows, but I would love to see an all matte palette, a normal sleek easy carry, PALETTE! Examples; Mac Palette, MUF Palette, Naked Palette.... I won't be getting this book of shadows, looks very pretty...but I have enough shimmery palettes. See my post below on Too Faced mattes.

Let me know what you think?

A MARY KAY Urban Decay NAKED Comparable?

I know, hard to believe right?!! After checking out the Urban Decay Naked Palette, I felt compelled to create a comparable using Mary Kay eye shadows. I know, I know...I once thought just the same thing until I was re-introduced to MK Shadows a couple of years back, MK is in the millennium girls and guys!! MK creates mineral-based formulas that are long-lasting, fade-resistant and look gorgeous on any skin tone. Based on my experience Mary Kay's claims are spot on! The colors are intense and crease-resistant with minimal fall-out. Their formula contains vitamins A, C and E to help protect against wrinkle-causing free radicals.

Here is my creation! At a $6.50 base price for .05oz this is far less than other high end cosmetics. The current price of the original NAKED is $48USD, that is $4USD per .05oz, however, you often find a Mary Kay Consultant offering a BOGO!

  • Foxy doesn’t compare to any shades from Naked Original.
  • Half Baked is a repeat from Naked Original.
  • Booty Call is similar to Virgin from Naked Original.
  • Chopper is a brighter orange than Sidecar from Naked Original.
  • Tease is new and matte.
  • Snakebite is new- but very similar to others from Naked Original.
  • Suspect is slightly more beige than Sidecar from Naked Original.
  • Pistol doesn’t compare to any shades in Naked Original.
  • Verve doesn’t compare to any shades in Naked Original.
  • YDK is a close dupe to Sidecar and similar to Toasted in Naked Original.
  • Busted is close dupe to Sidecar from Naked Original.
  • Blackout doesn’t compare to any shades from Naked Original.
In my humble opinion, a complete cool palette or matte palette would have been more lucrative to the brand.

ORIGINAL POST

It's OFFICIAL! Or pretty close anyway… It appears that Urban Decay has released sneak peeks of the new Naked #2 palette. They state on their website that "the big news will arrive via email on 12/1/2011." After combing the internet I found a sneak peek, see below. For the life of me I cannot recall how much the original price of NAKED was, but I'm thinking quite expensive. Currently the palette is $48USD on Urban's website. NAKED #2 is $50USD.

The new palette looks to have more metallic, more frost, and is in a metal container versus a cardboard one. Also from what I can tell it appears that the new palette will have a lip gloss or polish (?), versus the origial that came with a primer potion and in all cases eye pencils, which will be discontinued from the new packaging of both palettes, replaced by a nice looking brush (see the first photo above).
Very excited to swatch the new palette, hope to do so as soon as it's released! Check back.

What are YOUR thoughts on the new palette?
Check back later, you might be surprised where I found a dupe (sorta)!!!
